Our Story
Founded by Kenisha Holloway, Adorned with Awareness brings people together through creative experiences that make room for conversation. Beadwork, drawing, storytelling, and family-history exploration give participants ways to share what matters to them.
The work includes AWA Creative Experiences, Waist Ware, and Lineage & Legacy—connected offerings rooted in expression, listening, and belonging.
Our Purpose
We use art as a communication tool. Our guided experiences invite participants to explore ideas, share stories, and listen with care. Each person chooses what to share and how to participate.
Meet Kenisha
Kenisha Holloway is a wife, mother, entrepreneur, certified feminine power coach, and founder of Adorned with Awareness. Raised on Chicago's North Side, she brings community organizing and creative facilitation to her work with children, teens, adults, and families.
Her daughter helped inspire her early exploration of waistbeads as a tool for conversations about girlhood, growth, and transition. Kenisha hosted her first Waist Ware Circle in 2013. Her work has since grown to include custom waistbeads, youth programming, family experiences, and heritage-centered gatherings.
